Türk Nippon Sigorta AŞ was established on the date of 1 May 1991 with the partnership of Turkish Development Bank and Nippon Fire & Marine which is the biggest Insurance Company of Japan, with a capital of 25 billion TL.
Türk Nippon Sigorta whose shares in the ratio of 96.24% was transferred to Savings Deposit Insurance Fund in year 2000 was acquired by HNS group in October of 2001.
The majority shares of Türk Nippon Sigorta were acquired by Harel Group as at November 2008.
